What Is IPM?
Integrated Pest and Disease Management brings together prevention, monitoring, and several control methods to keep pest populations below the level where they cause real economic harm. Prevention First
The least expensive pest control is stopping the problem before it starts. Crop rotation breaks the pest and disease cycles that build up when the same crop sits in the same field season after season. Choosing resistant varieties, removing old crop residues, and keeping fields clean all reduce pest pressure before you ever need to spray.
Cultural and Biological Control
Good plant spacing improves airflow and cuts fungal disease. Careful water management avoids the wet conditions many pathogens need to spread. Biological control puts natural enemies to work for you — ladybirds, lacewings, and beneficial fungi like Trichoderma all suppress pest populations without any chemical input.
Scouting and Decision-Making
